Prayer Warrior

March 2010

Papio Creek Church, Papillion, NE.  Rev. Darrin and Pam Kimpson.  Ask God to help us grow in 3 main areas—spiritually, numerically, and financially.  Pray John 10:10—we would have life to the full!   During the season of lent, may we grow as a praying church and see where God is at work in peoples lives and have the courage to join Him in that work.  Ask God to help us grow our Life groups and assist with some exciting transitions of our Life groups.  Ask God to help this ministry be the tool it has the potential to be in stimulating spiritual growth and zeal for our church family.  Praise God with us as the ÒMakeoverÓ project is getting close to where we can paint and add new flooring to our lobby.  Ask God to help make room in peopleÕs lives that especially have the gifts of craftsmanship to complete this well.  Ask God to have things come together smoothly for the next project, which will be filling in the gap.

Crossroads Church, Norwalk, IA.  Rev. Glen and Sally Blumer. I want to ask for prayers as we move toward Easter.  Pray that people who generally don't go to church will visit a service and be attracted to the Gospel.

Bridge of Hope, Waterloo, IA.  Rev. Kevin and Stephanie Van Wyk.  Pray for KFC to reach kids and their parents!  áPray for our worship to be flooded by the Spirit of God, that people are changed forever!  áPray for us to effectively connect visitors and equip leaders. áPray for a facility for mid-week ministry usage.  áPray for continued generous giving on behalf of our partners and prayer team, so we can meet our monthly budget of $11,750.

Harvest Community Church, Wichita, KS.  Dr. Dave and Sandy Henion. Our second campus is moving along nicely. We are pulling together the details and moving forward. Pray that our church will become a harvesting machine and that we can really disciple and train all who come and will come. Pray also for the unity and protection from the enemies attempts to derail and side track. We have been attacked in our leadership and that we can help rest the issue. Pray also for my wife as she has been working two jobs very diligently. For our children as they grow in the Lord .

Center of Hope, Sioux Falls, SD.  Rev. Fred Wilgenburg, Director.  We seem to have extra numbers of visitors carrying heavy burdens lately --- joblessness, death within families including the common shock of suicide or other sudden death within Native American families, illness, substance abuse. Please pray that we may keep God's light shining thru us burning strong for Jesus at this time. It can become heavy for us. We are feeling responsibility at this time to assist the Native American community in raising up Gospel leaders for their people.  We know of many who have an identity-crisis in being Native Americans who are Christians. Many feel like they have to take off the culturally Native American hat, partly because their culture is very spiritual, before putting on the white-man Christian hat. Please pray as we try to assist them out of this and so they can identify beautifully, proudly as First Nations/Native American followers of Jesus, period. We may host a learning seminar with several well-respected Native Jesus followers, or other. The Sioux Falls Ministry Center is looking seriously at a facility of which Center of Hope would be a part. We are a little different on the price compared to the owner's price. Pray for God's leading.

Serve Our Youth, Des Moines, IA.  Bernie Van Roekel, Director.  SOY is thankful for the success of our 4th annual Pella Family Fun Day.  630 children and their families from the Pella area attended and had fun with inflatibles, games, balloons, and other activities.  We are thankful for the sponsors and SOY supporters who helped underwrite the cost of this event!  We pray that the Lord will continue to provide for SOY's needs, allowing us to positively impact the lives of at-risk youth in Central Iowa.

Don DeKok, Church Planting Missionary.  PLEASE PRAY for God's leading in Ft. Dodge, Iowa.  We have manned a booth at a Boat and Sports Show and will do so again at the Home and Garden Show in a couple of weeks.  The purpose of the booth is to meet people and see if there is interest in a new church in Ft. Dodge.  Please pray for the
Spirit's leading to be clear.

The Bridge, Ottumwa, IA.  Marty and Jennifer Schmidt.  Sunday March 7 I am joining three other people from thebridge to go to Cambodia for two weeks of medical missions and bible teaching. Please pray for our families while we are away and the power of the Holy Spirit to be with us each day.  We are throwing a free family event entitled "Eggstravaganza" on April 3 and we are expecting over 1000 people. Please pray over all of the plans for this event.

Please pray for our Childrens ministry and our Sunday Serve Teams both are very very low on volunteers. We have the same number of people serving for 1/3 more people.  Please pray for grace & peace in marriages.

Bridgeway Church, Ames, Ia. Rev. Bob and Laura De Boer.   Thank you for your prayers for the leadership meetings and the decisions that have been happening over the past couple of months.  Please continue to lift up our congregation this week as we share news of the termination of one of our staff positions, and for a sense of GodÕs leading for the future.  The entire congregation will be affected by these decisions and we pray for God to unite us together and call us forward to his continued plans for us.  Please pray for my family as we go away for Spring Break shortly after all of this is happening.  We are praying for rest, restoration and energy as we step into a new day at Bridgeway.  Pray that we will be able to trust GodÕs work in peopleÕs hearts and lives while we are away and when we return.

Harvest Community Church, Wichita, KS.  Rev. Rick Husselman. We are well into forming our second campus. The launch team is in place and the work really begins now. We would appreciate prayer for the team to be sensitive to God's direction and that our work would be in His will. We have funds to raise from outside resources - so we ask for generous provision. We are also heading into a time of preaching/teaching evangelism and hope to strengthen our main campus.  May God richly bless those who are praying for us!

Amistad Cristiana, Sioux Center, Iowa.  We are thankful for so many things. The end of January, the RCA generously provided so that 5 of us could go to THRIVE, a church planter's workshop, and it was a wonderful blessing for us. It was very exciting to dialogue with other Latino church planters and just to have the extended time to talk with each other about the vision we have for Amistad.  Attendance is strong and we are considering many options to deal with the growth--sharing facilities with another church, renovating another building or even building something new.  We have decided that any decisions have to grounded in the Word and in prayer, so we have invited around 35 people to join with us during the season of Lent to pray with us and seek God's direction regarding these options, for wisdom in the raising up of leaders in the church and the role of the Hispanic church in the US.  Thank you for joining with us in prayer.

Peace Reformed Church, Sioux City, IA.  Rev. Bob and Holli Rook. Continue to pray for our facility process that it may go well and that we may break ground this spring.   We are in the process of discerning our way through our education ministries and the search for new leadership for that.  Pray for guidance and blessing on the thoughts, discussion, and efforts in that process.  We hope to hire a part time Education Director and seek to find the best ways to participate in God's saving work in our world.  Continue to pray for our neighborhood ministry as we seek to use the geographic dispersion of our membership to bring the Good News to many different areas in our community through neighborhood groups called Peace Pods

Grundy Center Campus, Satellite of Orchard Hills Church, Cedar Falls, IA.  Rev. Mike Brost.   The Facilities Team met and prayed about God opening a door to provide property for the Grundy campus.  We prayed that God would use our campus to reach men and women, and boys and girls for Jesus Christ.  We celebrated the 29 families who have pledged $225,000 to make this happen and for more pledges continuing to come in.  We are beginning to meet with an architect, on some concepts and needs.

Harbor Church, Prior Lake, MN.  Josh and Nikki Johnson.  Prayer for organization, communication, and everyone to stay on the same page.
